2022 COS Tire and Purchase Regulations--All Divisions
Corrigan Oil Speedway officials announce today Tire Impound and Purchase Regulations for the 2022 race season.
Outlaw Super Late Models, Pro Late Models and Modified's will follow the popular tire impound procedure successfully utilized during the 2021 season with a few minor modifications for 2022. Teams will only be able to purchase (4) sticker Certified Tires opening night vs. (6) purchased in 2021. After opening night teams will be able to purchase (2) sticker Certified tires, same as in 2021 season. A total of (6) tires will be allowed to be "Certified" and impounded following opening night. One final change to the Tire Impound and Purchase regulations will be the "1st Time Visitor" rule. Street Stock teams: Street stock division will use Hoosier F70 tires in 2022, same as 2021. However no sticker tires will be allowed for purchase opening night. Teams will be able to utilize any Hoosier F70 tire in their team's inventory. Street Stock tires will be subject to inspection. NO SOAKING OF TIRES ALLOWED IN ANY DIVISION AT COS. This will be inspected. Blue Ridge Labs will be the official tire testing laboratory of 2022 at COS. After opening night, Street Stock teams will be able to purchase (2) sticker tires per night. This will be regulated on a 2 tire per car process.
Outlaw Front Wheel Drive: Outlaw front wheel drive division will be able to utilize the Hoosier 790 or Falken brand tire with a tread wear rating 200 or above. Tire size/aspect ration to remain consistent with 790 offerings. COS does not have any 790 tires in stock and we are not sure when they will be available. NO SOAKING OF TIRES ALLOWED IN ANY DIVISION AT COS. This will be inspected. Blue Ridge Labs will be the official tire testing laboratory of 2022 at COS.
Corrigan Oil Speedway is unable to sell any Hoosier sticker tire for practice purposes this Saturday April 16th. Tires may be purchased at the April 16th practice, Certified and impounded for Unleashed April 22nd. Tires will be available on a first come. first serve basis. Hoosier F70 tire prices are currently $155.00 plus tax. COS does not charge to mount/dismount wheels and tires. Any questions call the Tom Hernly at the COS Speedway office at 517-244-1042.
