Great Lakes Racing Promotions Announces Cancellation of June 26 Event at Corrigan Oil Speedway
MASON, MI — Great Lakes Racing Promotions regrets to announce the cancellation of the racing event scheduled for Friday, June 26, at Corrigan Oil Speedway.
This difficult decision was made after careful consideration of several factors impacting the event's viability, most notably the current economic conditions affecting travel costs for touring race teams and series competitors. Additional factors also contributed to the decision; however, Great Lakes Racing Promotions would like to emphasize that this cancellation does not reflect on Corrigan Oil Speedway or its staff in any way.
The June 26 event was originally scheduled as a rain date following the June 6 rainout. Since that time, multiple major racing events and special attractions have been announced throughout the region, creating significant competition for race fans and participants alike.
"Our goal has always been to provide fans with a quality racing product and ensure that competitors have a worthwhile experience," said Drew Jach of Great Lakes Racing Promotions. "With rising operating and travel costs, combined with several larger events taking place throughout the area, we felt it was in the best interest of everyone involved to make this decision now."
Fans and competitors should note that the highly anticipated Monster Truck Shows scheduled for Saturday, June 27, at Corrigan Oil Speedway remain on schedule and are moving forward as planned. Speedway officials are expecting a large crowd for those events.

Great Lakes Racing Promotions appreciates the understanding and support of race teams, sponsors, fans, and speedway personnel as they continue working to provide quality motorsports entertainment throughout the season.
